NSKN Games announces the start date of the Kickstarter campaign for Exodus: Edge of Extinction
January 15th 2015 marks the start of the second Kickstarter campaign in the history of NSKN Games. After a massively successful Progress: Evolution of Technology – a critically acclaimed game published as part of an exemplary run campaign – the time has come to expand Exodus: Proxima Centauri, NSKN’s classic space empire building game. Together with the Edge of Extinction expansion, the campaign also aims to gather funds for reprinting the revised edition of the base game, as well as the Upgrade Pack, which makes the first printing of Exodus: Proxima Centauri fully compatible with the upcoming expansion.

Apart from providing asymmetrical factions, new technologies, special abilities and bigger fleets, the Edge of Extinction expansion also introduces a new mechanism modifying the rules of space combat, through an extensive deck of combat cards, representing key manoeuvres and characters who performed them. As part of the campaign, backers will be able to name the characters that appear on those cards.
As with the previous campaign, backers will also have the opportunity to bundle together sets of different products from NSKN Games, including the Exodus: Proxima Centauri reprinted revised edition, the Upgrade Pack, Progress: Evolution of Technology and Versailles (the newest game in the NSKN Games portfolio, premiered at last year’s Spiel).

About Exodus: Proxima Centauri

Exodus: Proxima Centauri is a 2-6 player game, ages 12 and older that takes approximately 30 minutes per player. First published in 2012, it was later revised and reprinted, with the revised edition receiving the Dice Tower Seal of Excellence.
The list of differences between first and revised editions of the game can be found here. The newest reprint of the game will come with an improved rulebook, which will also be made available to download for free from www.nskn.net
